Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Wednesday evening we had the pleasure of being present for a very special event. Joel's brother Mike, proposed to his lovely girlfriend Nicole. Mike and Joel had been planning this for weeks now - we were all so nervous, I don't know who was the most! Mike, Joel or me! Mike made dinner reservations at Carr's Restaurant, here in Lancaster, and we were supposed to "wait in the wings" to pop out at the right moment to capture everything. It was totally nerve-racking! Mike texted Joel with the exact time we were supposed to come in and he would pop the question - 7:55 PM. We waited out in the car, then went in and waited at the bar at Carr's, hoping Nicole wouldn't see us. They were seated in the back so there wasn't any chance that she would, although we did have a close call when she went to the bathroom. Anyway, it all went off perfectly...
Joel's iPhone showing the text exchanges between him and Mike - I swear they were like schoolgirls planning this thing all week...

Ah, the moment! Nicole kept on asking, "What are you guys doing here?"
Oh, and did I mention we were ALL crying at this moment? I was stifling sobs behind my camera and Joel said he was shaking so bad he could barely hold the camera!! We are total saps...

You can never be too careful... Wednesday, September 26, 2007
With your gear and being at the beach! The photo below was taken by Joel at Friday's wedding on the beach. It was moments before I got completely soaked by a huge wave. You will notice I also have my bag slung over my back, luckily I handed it off to Joel quickly and seconds later I was covered in a wave. I was soaked up to my chest! AND....also important....when doing beach weddings bring extra clothes! I should have known this, but just forgot about it, I didn't have any extra clothes along, so I wore my wet clothes for the rest of the night. I was dry until the end of the reception, but it wasn't very comfortable!
Now, everyone have a good laugh at my expense...
:)
Oh, and I don't have a photo of myself actually getting wet - Joel was in the middle of changing cards in his camera when the wave hit me, so we missed that. And no, my camera didnt' get wet. I was photographing the wedding party on the beach and they saw the wave coming and started yelling, so I kind of knew it was coming - I stuck my hand straight up in the air with the camera - it didn't get wet, but I did. :)

Ashley and Derek - September 23rd Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Last one down! Sunday we were down at good old Willow Valley with Ashley and Derek, and I have to say, I have never seen so much crying at a wedding in my life! Ashley's family was very emotional and the tears flowed the ENTIRE day! Nothing wrong with that, but I knew there was going to be a lot of tears when we arrived at the Salon, and Ashley's mom was crying there! And Derek's mom! I forgot, she was a crier too! It was so sweet though, and Ashley just had the best personality. She was fun, confident and easy-going and she just glowed when she smiled. It was so beautiful to see. Derek is one lucky guy!
Ashley's flower girls were sooo cute - they were giving Amber (the youngest) pigtails at the salon!

Ashley really loved the willow trees, so we did a bunch of portraits underneath them, I really liked this shot.

Sherry and Dustin - September 22nd Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Day 2 of the long weekend! Sherry is so super sweet - she was a bridesmaid at one of our weddings last fall and she was so excited to have us at her wedding. She has two adorable kids, Cole and Caleigh, and they were so fun to photograph. Dustin was rockin' with some awesome shoes (you'll see those coming up!) - and they had the whole day at the Four Point Sheraton down in York.
The ceremony was literally the shortest we have ever had, I think it only lasted 5 minutes - they said "I Do", exchanged rings and kissed - and off they went! We have a lot of fun with the wedding party though, and then a blast at the reception. The cake cutting..er..I mean...smashing was very memorable. :)
I love this ring shot - I found a courtesy card lying on the nightstand in Sherry's hotel room, it made for a great background for the rings...

Angela and Jason - September 21st Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Whew. Last weekend we had 3 weddings, yes, you heard me right, 3 weddings. It was our second triple header of the year (the other one was Memorial Day weekend). Our first one of the weekend was on Friday in Beach Haven, NJ at The Sea Shell. We photographed Angela's sister's wedding 3 years ago, and Angela was thrilled we were available and willing to travel for her own wedding. We love to travel and Friday was a gorgeous day! Not too hot, not too chilly - perfect fall beach weather.
There were lots of tears, dancing, hugging, running, smiling, laughing -all of it going on during this day! A short beach ceremony was held followed by some portraits and then a fun reception. Angela's cousin, who is only a few days younger than her, was a Maid of Honor and gave a speech that had Angela in tears. Rounds of shots were done, and everyone hit the dance floor. It was great seeing some of the guests from Terry's wedding (Angela's sister) and it made for a fun evening.
Oh and before I forget, I even got good and soaking wet at this beach wedding! But that will come later....
First shot here is a sweet ring shot my husband did in the sand.

Who needs scissors? One of the bridesmaids dresses had some threads hanging off, so Nikki, Angela's cousin just used her teeth!

I unknowingly set this shot up for myself - I had all of the girls give me their bouquets for a group shot, then put them down here all organized (unconsciously). When I went to pick them back up, I saw this.
