Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Collin's mom Stacy has been wanting to schedule a portrait session with us forever! She finally just did it, and we are so glad! We had a lot of fun with Collin. We met up with them at Lancaster Central Park, and poked around there. We climbed some rocks, played with some leaves, showed off karate moves and reached for the sky. It's fun to be 5. :) Collin is also pretty masterful on his scooter, so mom had brought that along for us too. Collin raced back and forth on the paths and we watched him whiz by us as we composed and snapped away. I love photographing kids, I really, really do. They are so easy to get along with. Thanks Collin for being you! :)

Brittaney and Scott Rocked Socks - Literally! Friday, August 28, 2009
Yeah yeah yeah. I am serious by my title. Not only were Brittaney and Scott super-rad, but they did rock socks. Check out those rockin argyles! Plus....they are Wiebner colors!!! Blue, green and white baby! Brittaney was tugging at our heartstrings with these. We were SO excited to work with Brittaney and Scott after the extremely cool time we had with them at their engagement session earlier this year. Their wedding on August 7th was totally perfect! Great details, great personalities, fun friends and family and a secret hidden photo spot. Who could ask for more?
The day started out like any other with some getting ready, but then these two wanted to see each other all dressed up and get some of the jitters out of the way. They met under the pergola amongst the empty chairs that waited for guests to arrive. Tears flowed, there were oohs and aahs over clothing details and then the sun came out to light up their faces in permanent smiles. We were off and running with the enthusiasm and downright silliness that emanated from these two. We were at Heritage Hils Golf Resort for the entire day, and as much as we love golf courses, we wanted to find somewhere else to play. Luckily we took a walk and found on part of the property an old farmhouse and spring house. They oozed decay and decrepitness which is just what we love for our backgrounds. We played around there for a good long time, until the wedding party came and roused us out of our joviality. It was back to reality and time to say I do, so off we all went to walk down the aisle.
The evening proved to be much more of the same merriment, as Brittaney and Scott had something extra special planned for their guests (with the help of our buds at Occasions DJs. As they danced their first dance, they pulled their skeptical wedding party out onto the dance floor one at a time. They all were adorned (some unwillingly!) with silly props and costumes, and made to dance with either Brittaney or Scott. It was certainly a sight to see! We were laughing so hard we were having a hard time pressing the shutter buttons on our cameras!
There was much more fun during the reception, with Brittaney and Scott dropping some Irish Car Bombs, "jump rope" dancing and fun on the mini-golf course to end the night!
Couldn't have asked for a more fun day!

And Brittaney getting hers on. She looks so serious here, but really, she wasn't. She WAS totally channeling some Marilyn Monroe though. Smoking hot!

Woot! Another image ad for Milestone Inn Thursday, August 27, 2009
Last month we were delighted to find out our friends Robin and Sean at the fabulous Milestone Inn used one of our wedding images in their Harrisburg Magazine ad. Well for their August ad, they decided to use another image we photographed from the same wedding! They used one of the images we shot there last year at Angie and Ryan's Wedding in September. And congratulations to the Milestone Inn on being voted Simply the Best again! Big thanks to Robin for using our image in this gorgeous ad! And brides and grooms (or anyone else having an event of some kind) - if you are planning for the Harrisburg area, this is definitely one of the best venues there. (Its our personal favorite!)
Our last session with Elena! The other week we met up with Elena and her parents to finish out her Year in the Life session; we met up at Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown. This session was so different from Elena's other sessions - she was babbling away! It was like she grew up overnight. She was talking up a storm and she now seems like a mature little girl - so big for 2! We had lots of fun at this session chasing her around the gardens, smelling the flowers, playing in the fountain, and singing our ABCs (Elena's favorite song). And huge congrats to Elena's mommy and daddy - they are expecting their 2nd baby, due this coming fall! Can't wait to meet her! :)
Doesn 't she look so big here?

Teeny Weeny Wiebs - #3 Pets!! Sunday, August 16, 2009
July's Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions are here! Our favorite photos from the sessions (shown below) were hung in our gallery/studio here in Lancaster for August's First Friday (August 7th). We were actually photographing a wedding that day, but had some good friends of ours have the studio open for all of you to come in and view the photos. We heard it was very, very busy! Some of you came back in last week to talk to us, since we weren't there that day. Thanks for stopping in! We are so excited and thrilled, because with your generous voting, we raised over $500 for the Humane League of Lancaster!! And the winner of our voting was our first image below - Leah with Jimm, Odie and Bailey! Her mom will get to keep the fine art print that is hanging in our studio.
If you didn't get a chance to get in to the studio to see the gorgeous prints, no worries! The show will be up until September 3rd.
So for our July Teeny Weenies, we photographed pets. We had such an overwhelming response, that we will be doing more pet mini-shoots sometime this fall. Keep your eye on the blog, or signup for our new Email Newsletter to find out about all of our new sessions, specials and fun things we will be doing!
In case you don't know what Teeny Weeny Wiebs are: Each month we will pick one day to do "mini shoots" that are themed. The shoots will last only 15 minutes each and only cost $25 for the session! Joel and I will be coming up with fun new ideas for the themes each month. Some of the sessions will be for kids, some for pets, some for adults - some for all ages! Yes, we are doing this each and every month! As an added twist to our Teeny Weeny sessions - we will be picking our favorite image from each session and displaying them in our gallery on First Friday each month. We will be using the photos to help raise money for a different charity each month. Here's the deal: Come in on First Friday and vote for your favorite Teeny Weeny image. You can vote by placing a monetary donation in a bucket under your favorite print. All of the money we collect in the buckets will go to charity, and the image that collects the most money wins! The client will receive the print for free that collects the most donations.
If you are interested in future Teeny Weeny Wiebs session - please send us an EMAIL to get more info! The spots go quick! Our next Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions will be "Halloween" - we will have some fun Halloween props! The sessions will take place on September 23rd. If you sign your kids up, they will not need to have their costumes for the shoot. We will actually be doing Halloween mini-sessions the week of Halloween. Stay tuned for more details on that.
Enough babbling - here is our winning image! Leah came in with a rambunctious puppy named Bailey, a beautiful Siamese cat named Jimmy, and good old Odie the dog. It was fun trying to get all of them in one shot, and we did accomplish that, but we really liked this series of shots we got at the end of the shoot. I guess you all did too! This print alone raised over $120!

Here's my boy!! This is my baby, Icarus, the Italian Greyhound. He is a big boy for an IG, and weighs in at about 19 pounds. Most dogs in his breed are in the 6-10 pound range. You may remember, but this is my pup I got back in January, and the first day home he broke his leg. he's so handsome and always gets so many compliments, we decided it was time to get a great shot of him - he is actually on display in our storefront window right now. Angus, our other pup, wasn't cooperating with his daddy when we were trying to take these shots, so he got left out this time. Poor Angus. :(
