Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
So how fun was this session? Take 2 adorable little boys, a fashionable mom, AND 2 huge Bernese Mountain Dogs, and you end up with one heck of a fun portrait session!! Tasha's mom is an artist that had come in to the studio on a First Friday and fell in love with our work, so she shared it with Tasha. Tasha decided to do a portrait session of her and her boys and their dogs! Tasha has a budding business of her own, with some awesome little products - Tasha's Little Products are adorable and she gave us a pack of her napkin notes as a thank you for the session. Our boys love them and look forward to their "notes" in their lunchbox.
Tasha had asked if we could get some shots of Cole and Cade with the dogs for some notecards that she ordered from us. We willingly obliged and after we had some fun with that, the boys changed and played around with mom. We walked around Lancaster and did some shots at Musser Park near the studio. The coolest was a huge water puddle we found on the way back, which is the last image here at the bottom. We have two shots of this and Tasha got them as canvases for her house! How great is that?

April and Greg and the whole crew, fun at the stables! Thursday, December 17, 2009
We loved this family! April had brought Paige and Lauren in for a Teeny Weeny Wiebs session earlier this year, and she wanted to get some shots of the whole family for her Christmas cards. They loved their photos so much they ended up with 2 different sets of cards, a large print, and a big canvas! We were so happy to be able to give them some decor of themselves for their walls.
The session took place on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in October, and April had wanted to do the shoot at Graystone Manor Stables in Leola, where she has their horse boarded. So we met up with all 7 of them - April, Greg, Paige, Lauren, Austin, Lindsay and Gavin. We played in the fields, strolled along the dirt road, played a game of tag, and climbed in the hay in the barn. We had so many great shots it was hard to choose for blog, but these are some of our absolute favorites. Enjoy!
Paige found a caterpillar on the road, didn't want to touch it, but wanted a closer look. Gavin helped her out. :)

I love this shot of Lindsay - she was a trooper, she was sick that day and still managed to play along and get out a few smiles.

Stacey & Mike, and introducing...Graydon! Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Well, now that we REALLY have the Christmas orders wrapped up and we are just waiting for them to come in, things are starting to get back to normal here for a bit before Christmas. Lots of blogging to catch up on! I have 30 sessions to blog over the next few weeks. Eek! That's a lot of writing to do. Anyway, our first family portrait session here was way back at the end of October when all of the craziness began! I am not really sure what happened to November, other than the fact that its gone and I don't remember much of it. Fall portrait season was crazy!
We photographed Stacey and Mike's wedding back in 2007, and we were so excited to hear they have a new little addition, Graydon! Graydon is a serious little guy, who had fun with us downtown here in Lancaster. We went for a walk and found some fun places to hang out at. Take a look at what trouble Graydon managed to find...
Better late than never, but October's Teeny Weeny Wiebs sessions are finally on the blog! I have to say this has been probably my favorite Teeny Weeny session so far - I just love our set, and what's better than kids in their comfy jammies? Our favorite photos from the sessions (shown below) were hung in our gallery/studio here in Lancaster for November's First Friday (November 6th). Our charity for that night (which was suggested by one of our awesome TWW moms, thanks Carrie!) was Project Linus - we raised nearly $400 for this organization! And the winner of our voting was our first image below - Grant! His lucky parents will get to keep the fine art print that is hanging in our studio.
In case you don't know what Teeny Weeny Wiebs are: Each month we will pick one day to do "mini shoots" that are themed. The shoots will last only 15 minutes each and only cost $25 for the session! Joel and I will be coming up with fun new ideas for the themes each month. Some of the sessions will be for kids, some for pets, some for adults - some for all ages! Yes, we are doing this each and every month! As an added twist to our Teeny Weeny sessions - we will be picking our favorite image from each session and displaying them in our gallery on First Friday each month. We will be using the photos to help raise money for a different charity each month. Here's the deal: Come in on First Friday and vote for your favorite Teeny Weeny image. You can vote by placing a monetary donation in a bucket under your favorite print. All of the money we collect in the buckets will go to charity, and the image that collects the most money wins! The client will receive the print for free that collects the most donations.
If you are interested in future Teeny Weeny Wiebs session - please send us an EMAIL to get more info! The spots go quick! We photographed Christmas Teeny Weeny sessions in November, but will not be doing Teeny Weeny sessions in December - we are taking the month off! No worries, they will be back for January. January 27th we will be doing a Valentine's Day theme, so sign up now!
Here's Grant's winning photo, doesn't he look like he is up to trouble?
