Do you like to have fun? We do, especially with our photos. We wanted something a little different than the average blog out there, so along with our super talented Blog designer we came up with a Favorites section - or "Wiebner Faves" as we like to call it. What is it you ask? more »
Well, under each photo, you will see a "Vote for Favorite" box. If you really like that image, if it tickles your fancy, or makes you laugh, or just plain old makes you smile - go ahead - check it. We know you want to. Each time that box is clicked on a photo, it adds to the running tally for that image. The top 14 favorite images on the entire blog will be shown as thumbnails in this section. Just so you can see the most popular images of all time on the blog. A little something out of the ordinary - it never hurts to be different!
Also, blog posts can be favorites. Now that we have comments available, you will see a little bar meter at the bottom left of each post. Once the meter hits a certain number of comments, its automatically promoted to a "Wiebner Fave Post". :) Something else just for fun!

I find it incredibly difficult to write about us when put on "The Spot". "I need a 500 word bio about you and Joel, now!" Who can do that? How do you make your own personality shine in a few words, let alone that of two people? Well, I am going to give it my best shot. If you really want to know about US - who we really are - read the blog below. We really try to keep it updated as often as possible, and hope that our fun, casual personalities shine through in the words you read and the images we capture for our clients. The blog below is our way of communicating our lives - both personal and professional - with clients, friends, family and colleagues. We believe strongly in using words and images together to communicate our passion.
I am going to keep this short and sweet - Joel and I were meant to be together - to live, love and be happy making photographs. We were both photographers before we met over 9 years ago - we met behind a camera, and continue to feed off of that energy. We are a rock solid husband and wife team and we wouldn't want it any other way - we work together 24/7 and never tire of each other. We have had our business since November 2000, and have thrived on photographing weddings as our main photography genre since 2002. We love what we do. We like to think we look at the world in our own way - not photojournalistically, not traditionally, not artistically. Just as a Wiebner. If you like what we see, then you will like us too. Oh and don't forget to comment in the blog on our two little darlings - Haydn and Zane - they are pretty darn cute little Wiebners. Enjoy! - Rita
Emily and Jeremy will be married soon! I am getting ahead of myself though, because first we had this really awesome engagement session with them in Philadelphia. First, we went to the Naval Yards - Jeremy works there so we were able to have access to most of the property - there were soooo many great spots to photograph at. Dilapidated buildings, great views of the ships, abandoned parking lots - you name it, this place had it! After we explored for a long time, we headed downtown in Philadelphia to one of Emily and Jeremy's favorite restaurants, Tria Cafe, for some beverages, and then walked over to Rittenhouse Square for a few park shots. We had so many laughs with these guys - and can you believe it, they have been together for 14 years? I think they win the record for our couple that has been together the longest! Can't wait for the wedding!

Toni & Bobby. Fire escapes and Funny Faces. Tuesday, August 3, 2010
We will be photographing Toni and Bobby's wedding in October of this year, in the Ryan building next to the Capital complex in Harrisburg. Toni actually works in that building, and Bobbi works nearby. They really love the riverfront area and downtown around where they work, so they wanted to have some fun with their engagement session in these areas. We found some fun! Toni said she really loves the fire escape shots that we have done in the past, so we went exploring on several fire escapes! Bobby is a bit of a goofball, and we found out he LOVES to make silly faces (him and Joel get along REALLY well) - Joel is a master at useless facial expressions. :P
We also went to the top of the parking garage right next to the capitol, and what a view! Plus there were lots of great things to explore. I love finding new spots!

Yes, they are actually pressing their noses (and mouths?) against this window on the top of the garage. :)
We photographed Mandy and Greg's engagement session REALLY early on a Sunday morning so that it wasn't too hot and the light would be nice. There isn't a better time to be on a farm than early in the morning. This farm is extra special, because it is Greg's family's farm and has been in the family for over 5 generations. I love it when we get to photograph at locations that are really meaningful to our couples. It adds that something extra special to the session. And there were oh so many places to play on this farm! The cornfield, the school buses (Greg's family owns several!), the fields, the barn - and we can't forget the shiny red tractor! Greg worked painstakingly on this beauty - completely stripping it down and restoring it. It is really beautiful! So we did a bunch of shots using that. Also, Bandit, Greg's dog had to get in on some shots, he was such a good puppy!
After we had our run around the farm, we also traveled down the road a bit to some other property that Greg's parents own, which is super special to Mandy and Greg. The tree in our 2nd to last shot is where Greg proposed to Mandy. Its a pretty cool little spot. We had so much fun working with these two and can't wait for their wedding in December!

Shelly & Brian's Engagement Session at Home Wednesday, July 14, 2010
Shelly and Brian are such a great couple - we traveled to their home in the Chester Springs area a few weeks back for a few engagement shots. (Their wedding was actually this past weekend!) They have a great house with a HUGE yard for their doggies, and we took full advantage of all of that space! We photographed on the front porch, the back yard, the front yard, the lane leading up to the house (lots of blackberry bushes! yum yum!). After we fully frolicked around the place :) - we also went to a park near their house that they wanted to go to.
I love being able to take something as simple as a house and using it for great shots. Check out all of the variety we got below. Congrats to Shelly and Brian - we will have some wedding photos up soon!

Downtown Lancaster Engagement - Megan & Harry from NJ! Monday, May 17, 2010
Megan and Harry are our first official First Friday booking for a wedding. They were in here at the studio last summer on a First Friday, loved our work, and booked us for their wedding! They enjoy taking lots of day trips to wineries, art galleries and so forth, so one of their excursions was to Lancaster last year. We love that it was so random how they found us. We can't wait to photograph their wedding next month at the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA. But first, a little about their engagement session...
Harry started out by saying he was up for anything! He wanted us to have free reign - he is a videographer, so he understands a bit about the creative process. :) The day they came from New Jersey for their session was gorgeous (although a thunderstorm was looming around and ended up dumping on us later in the day after their session). We started out in one of our favorite parking garages here in Lancaster, had way too much fun up on the roof, then went over to Musser Park. Megan really likes trees, and it is a theme for their wedding, so we got some spring tree color in a few shots for them.
Looking forward to this wedding next month at a new location for us!
